Wadebridge Music Festival - March 2007

Mount Charles Youth Band were well represented at Wadebridge Music Festival on Wednesday 7th March with Sarah Matthews, Yasmin Stevens, Charles Best and James Hammett taking part.

These four promising young players meet up at all the local solo competitions and music festivals and usually come away with their fair share of prizes. Wadebridge was no exception. In their separate slow melody classes, Sarah, Yasmin and Charles each scored highly with distinction and won medals for first place, James came a close second to Sarah and also scored highly with distinction.

The Adjudicator, Michael Johnson, BMus, PGCE, ARCM, was full of praise for all the young people and gave them plenty of advice and encouragement, as he announced the awards. Thanks must go to the organisers of Wadebridge Music Festival for all their hard work.

The next music competition will be Bugle Music Festival with the brass section taking place on 5th May at Bugle Methodist Church - entrance secretary Mrs. V Jane Tel: 01726 851392.
