| Derek Thomas -

Derek started in the band in
1984, with his first taste of brass band contesting on
'Contest Music' at the Area Contest in 1985.
Since those early dates he has enjoyed many experiences with
the band with contests all of the UK and abroad. His
favourites include playing at Brass in Concert, Royal Albert
Hall and most recently the Grenland Festival of Brass.
Derek is Chairman of the band and works across the South
West as a Learning and Development Manager.

| Jack
Tucker - Percussion |

|
Jack has been playing percussion with the Senior Band for 2
years and the Youth Band for 5 years. He recently joined the
percussion section of Cornwall Youth and also plays guitar
in his punk/alternative band '10 Second Rule'. Jack's best
moment so far was being selection by the National ATC Drum
Corp to march and play snare drum down The Mall and
attending the Royal Garden Party after.

Daniel Tamblyn - Percussion |

Daniel started playing
the piano at the age of 7, having worked up through his
grades he is now studying for a diploma.
His first taste of brass banding was on percussion with St
Pinnock Band. The first contest he played at was Harrogate
in 2006.
Dan enjoys playing many instruments and has started a course
at Plymouth University in Primary Education specialising in
music.

| Duncan Alexander -
Percussion |

Duncan started playing with the youth band when he was 14
years old and under Derek's guidance he quickly progressed into
the senior band. Duncan has been having a break from banding
following the birth of his second daughter Daisy, but has
recently returned to the percussion squad because Derek has now
realised he can't manage without him!! Duncan's banding
highlights were the bands win at Pontins in 2001 and playing at
the Albert Hall. He is married to the bands Repiano player Megan
and has a daughter Michaela who plays in the youth band. |

| John
Mitchell - Percussion |

|
John works as a full time drums and percussion tutor within
the secondary schools and for Cornwall College, where he
also teaches on the A Level and BTEC music courses.
He is also in much demand to play supporting theatre productions
across the South West.
John has played in brass bands since the age of 12, but
less frequently now due to his busy teaching commitments
and other musical interests.
