Started playing because: My friends at 8 years old because I liked the sound of a brass band 
Why Mount Charles: Because they are a good band to play for

Favourite Music: Resurgam
Favourite Venue: Colston Hall, Bristol
Best Banding Memory: Winning the second section area contest, Torquay in 1998 with Redruth Town
Hobbies: Gardening, woodwork
Pets: Dog
Favourite alcoholic drink: Guinness 
Can no longer drink: Rum

Something that reveals age: When I was a child, Blackjacks and Fruit Salads were four for a penny (an old penny)
First Band: Newquay
Started playing because: At senior school-my best friend played cornet. I wanted to play cornet or trombone so they gave me a tenor horn.
Why Mount Charles: Mutual exchange of players with Newquay Band.
First contest: Probably Bugle
Favourite Music: Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen
Favourite Venue: Minack
Best Banding Memory: Many after contest beers, Exmouth stands out
Hobbies: Yes! Baking (and eating the results), swimming, walking, arranging music for band ad small groups
Pets: Two cats
Favourite alcoholic drink: German Lager
Can no longer drink: Bacardi
Toilet paper hangs: Over
Dumbest injury: Swollen finger from overplaying Candy Crush

First Band: St Breward (for 54 years)
Started playing because: when a new learners class began in 1966
Why Mount Charles: 
First Contest:
Cornwall Brass Band Contest, Truro in 1967
Favourite Music: Resurgam (I will rise again)
Favourite Venue: Colston Hall, Bristol, The Royal Albert Hall, London and The Minack Theatre, Cornwall
Best Banding Memory: Became the National Champions of Great Britain on of the 4th section in 2009. Came 4th in 2007, playing at Harrogate and 4th again in 2000, playing at the Royal Albert Hall, London
Hobbies: Working at being retired and band, band and more band
Pets: I had cats, but they passed due to their old age
Favourite alcoholic drink: Peroni
Can no longer drink: Rum
Toilet paper hangs: Over
